Informing International Climate Conversations at COP29

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will host its 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) November 11–November 22, 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan. RFF will host several engagements at COP29, bringing our experts together with leading global voices to explore the policies, innovations, and market forces needed to meet the climate challenge.

  • November 16, 3:00 – 4:30 PM local time, Side Event Room 4 (Blue Zone): RFF is co-hosting an official side event on “Climate, Trade, and Industrial Policy: How Policies in Global North and Global South Economies are Driving Decarbonization.” We are honored to have Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) opening this event.
  • November 18, 2:00 – 3:00 PM local time, Trade and Investment House (Green Zone): RFF is hosting an additional climate and trade focused event titled “Global impacts of carbon border adjustments – who benefits?”, showcasing research insights on the design and impacts of a potential US carbon border adjustment policy. These insights will be informed by economic modeling and cover impacts on global and country-level emissions, economic output and fiscal revenues. Speakers include:
