Sara Kangas

Sara Kangas is the director of communications at RFF. Sara previously was the director of policy communications at American Forests where she led the organization’s policy communications work, including media, event planning, campaigns, and executive communications support. She also led the communications for the Forest-Climate Working Group coalition. Before that role, she was the director of communications at the National Association of Conservation Districts. She has a bachelor's degree in entomology from Texas A&M University, and, almost equally as important, once earned second place in the Pie Contest at the D.C. State Fair.
