Loren Schmidt
Senior Manager of Government Engagement
Loren Schmidt is the senior manager of government engagement at RFF, where she is responsible for leading development strategies to broaden and deepen the organization’s relationships with government agencies and NGOs.
Over the course of her career, she has raised millions of dollars in support of nonprofit programs, devised impactful and wholistic economic and community development initiatives, successfully trained national teams in project design and grant management, and contracted with the Administration for Children and Families as a federal grant reviewer. Most recently, she worked as a Global Climate Economics and Policy Analyst at the Environmental Defense Fund.
Her extensive experience is complemented by an academic background studying the intersection of climate change, economic development, and social good. She is a former Global Scholar funded by Rotary International and a contributor to Sustain the Mag, an e-magazine on sustainable lifestyles.
In her free time, Loren is an avid photographer, kayaker, and all-around adventurer with a passion for protecting the natural environment.
