Brandon Holmes

Research Analyst

Brandon Holmes joined Resources for the Future as a research analyst in October 2023. Before working at RFF, Holmes earned his MSc in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics at Durham University in the United Kingdom, writing his thesis on the impact of flood zoning on house prices with respect to property elevation. A native of the Washington, DC area, Holmes has previously interned at the Environmental Law Institute, the AES Corporation, and worked as an environmental justice research assistant at the Earth House Center in Oakland, California.

Holmes earned a BA from Dartmouth College in 2020 with a double major in Environmental Studies and Geography. At Dartmouth, Brandon worked as an energy data analyst for the Office of Sustainability. His research interests include sea level rise, development economics, human geography, urban planning, and the circular economy. He has studied abroad in multiple countries including South Africa, Namibia, and the Czech Republic to incorporate valuable international perspectives into his environmental research projects.
