Resources for the Future is pleased to welcome Mark Florian of BlackRock to its board of directors.
Resources for the Future (RFF) is pleased to welcome Mark Florian, a managing director at BlackRock and head of the BlackRock Global Infrastructure Funds, to its Board of Directors. Florian joins an esteemed group of leaders and experts who help guide RFF’s strategic mission.
Florian manages more than $13 billion through the BlackRock Global Infrastructure Funds and leads BlackRock’s Global Energy and Power Infrastructure team, which manages energy sector investments. He previously worked for First Reserve, a private equity firm that invests in the energy sector, and Goldman Sachs, where he worked for 23 years. Florian has testified before the US House of Representatives on infrastructure issues and was appointed to a federal commission to develop recommendations on reforming the infrastructure finance system.
“We're so pleased to have Mark on the board,” RFF President and CEO Richard G. Newell said. “I know we can count on him and his decades of experience to provide thoughtful insight into the future of energy investments.”
“We’re entering a new era of private sector investment in the energy sector,” Florian said. “Making sure that our investments are sound relies on solid, robust research—an area where RFF shines. I’m glad to continue providing my private-sector acumen to the great work that’s being done here.”
