Resources for the Future (RFF) is pleased to announce that Jay Bartlett has joined the board of directors. Bartlett, an expert in energy finance, joins an esteemed group of leaders and experts who help guide RFF’s strategic mission.

Since 2018, he has published research related to energy policy, renewable energy finance and risk, and hydrogen at RFF. Previously, Bartlett worked in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, and the Solar Energy Technologies Office, at the US Department of Energy. He has held positions in alternative energy equity research at UBS, mergers and acquisitions at a boutique advisory firm in New York, and biophysics research at Princeton University. He also works closely with the University of Chicago as founder of the James Bartlett Fellowship Program and as an advisor to the Harris School of Public Policy.

“I’m so fortunate to be able to build my relationship with the RFF board through this new position as I have already with staff,” Bartlett said. “People are investing in net-zero now more than ever. Not only financially, but also through research, policy engagement, and interest in the field.  I’m proud that I’ll be able to offer my expertise through a different lens as a board member and help RFF attract the attention and resources warranted for such stellar research.”

“Jay is a great addition to our board of directors,” said RFF President and CEO Richard G. Newell. “His long relationship with RFF and experience in an advising capacity will be a boon to RFF during a time of transition. We’re fortunate to have him on the team. His expertise in energy finance, hydrogen, wind, and other key issues of our day will ensure that RFF continues to lead the research needed to achieve a healthy environment and thriving economy.”
