Resources for the Future (RFF) Press and Earthscan are pleased to announce that RFF Press has become a licensed imprint of Earthscan. Headquartered in London, Earthscan has acquired the assets of RFF Press, and the RFF Press staff will become the first employees of EarthScan_230.jpgEarthscan’s newly established U.S. subsidiary, Earthscan LLC. This will consolidate two of the strongest publishing lists in environment, natural resources management, and sustainability.

Jonathan Sinclair Wilson, Managing Director of Earthscan, said “I am delighted that we have been able to acquire such a distinguished list and one that is so complementary to our own. From its inception, Resources for the Future has been visionary and highly influential and its publishing has set a benchmark in the ever-more crucial fields of environmental and resource economics and policy. This marks a substantial step for us, giving Earthscan a base from which to expand our publishing in the United States, and we look forward to working with Don Reisman, the RFF Press Publisher for the last 10 years, to build that list and extend its influence through our established international distribution network.”

Don Reisman, Publisher of RFF Press commented “I am very excited about this strategic relationship with Earthscan—and this new stage in the evolution of RFF Press. As we contribute toward the expansion of Earthscan's operations in the United States, we greatly extend the influence and reputation of RFF Press internationally. The association with Earthscan provides RFF Press with an extraordinary opportunity to reach new audiences, take advantage of new technologies for delivering information, respond effectively to changes in the business environment, and, most importantly, have greater impact on environmental decision-making.” RFF Press books will be available through all Earthscan distribution channels (Macmillan Distribution Ltd in the UK and Stylus Publishing in the U.S.) beginning the 1st of December 2009.
