PA Can Do Right by Fossil Fuel Workers While Tackling Climate Change
In an op-ed published in an array of Pennsylvania papers, Senior Research Associate Wes Look shares his thoughts on an equitable energy transition in the Keystone State.
"Cheaper alternatives like natural gas and renewable energy have out-competed coal across the country over the last decade, and Pennsylvania has been on the front lines of that transition. As the Biden Administration and state lawmakers take necessary steps to accelerate the transition to clean energy and tackle the threat of climate change, it’s imperative they also deliver real support that can protect and lift up communities currently reliant on fossil fuel jobs. Over the past year, Environmental Defense Fund and Resources for the Future have reviewed over 100 federal policies to identify key solutions and lessons learned to help these workers and their communities."
