Heatmap: “Report: Power Demand from AI Data Centers Likely to Be ‘Modest’”
A segment in Heatmap’s morning newsletter details the key findings of RFF’s annual Global Energy Outlook report.
Resources for the Future published its annual energy outlook Monday... And while everyone is worried about how AI and data centers will spike electricity demand, the RFF report notes that “data center growth is only a small part of total growth in US electricity needs” through 2050, and says the impact from data centers is assumed to be “modest relative to other sectors.”
