Assessing the Air Quality and Climate Benefits of EPA’s Clean Power Plan
This webinar by Resources for the Future and the Electric Power Research Institute covered key issues in the air quality benefits estimates and their economic valuation, as well as the complexities of the social cost of carbon and its application to carbon dioxide reduction policies.
Event Details
Co-hosted by Resources for the Future (RFF) and the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI)
In June 2014, the US Environmental Protection Agency released its Clean Power Plan, proposing carbon pollution guidelines for existing power plants. It also released the regulatory impact analysis for the plan, which estimates the co-benefits of improvements in air quality along with carbon dioxide reductions valued using the US government’s social cost of carbon.
This webinar by Resources for the Future and the Electric Power Research Institute covered key issues in the air quality benefits estimates and their economic valuation, as well as the complexities of the social cost of carbon and its application to carbon dioxide reduction policies.
This was the fourth event in a joint EPRI–RFF series on EPA’s Clean Power Plan: Exploring Opportunities for Collaboration and Compliance. Learn more about the series and future events at www.rff.org/CPPseries.
