Public Service

RFF and its scholars enhance the public policy dialogue in many ways beyond particular research projects. For decades the RFF Seminar Series has provided the Washington community with a weekly forum in which scholars, journalists, advocates, and policymakers intersect. RFF also regularly hosts special events and conferences.

Through unpaid service on nonprofit boards, as advisors to government agencies, and as members of prestigious domestic and international panels and commissions, RFF scholars provide expertise to a broad range of organizations. In addition, RFF scholars provide Congressional Testimony on pressing legislative matters.

RFF scholars actively contribute to the work of numerous organizations, including:

Association of Environmental and Resource Economists
Center for the Advancement of Energy Markets
Environmental Literacy Council
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
National Academy of Science
National Aeronautics and Space Administration
National Regulatory Research Institute
National Research Council
New Jersey Comparative Risk Project
North Carolina State University
Project Learning Tree
Resolve, Inc.
Royal Society of Canada
The Johnson Foundation
U.S. Department of Energy
U.S. Department of State
